由来
昔の中国で、魔術を使える張楷よいう人が、五里四方にわたって深い霧を起こしていたという故事が由来。
この「五里霧」の中に入ると、方角を見失い、どこをどう行ったらよいかわからなくなることから。
Origin
It is derived from the fact that in ancient China, a person who could use magic was creating a deep fog in all directions.
If you go inside this “Go ri mu”, you will lose sight of the direction and you will not know where to go and how to go.
意味
物事の手がかりがつかめず、見通しも立たない状態で、どうしたらよいかわからないこと。

「里」は長さの単位で、昔の中国では、「一里」は約四百メートル。
「五里霧」は、二キロメートル四方におよぶ霧。

“Gorimu” is a fog that stretches for two kilometers.
