皆さんこんにちは。今日はことわざ第4弾です。

今日のことわざは「かわいい子には旅をさせよ」です。
うちの息子はたぶん無理ですｗ

由来
昔の旅は歩くか馬に乗るしかなく、苦労が多く、かなり大変なことだったことから。

意味
子供がかわいいなら、甘やかさずに、親元から離して苦労をさせた方が子供のためになる。

例・使い方
お姉ちゃんが海外留学することになった。
お父さんは「かわいい子には旅をさせよって言うからな」と強がっていたけれど、本当はすごくさびしがっている。

豆知識
「かわいい子には旅をさせよ」の「旅」は、単なる旅行のことだけをさしているのではありません。
社会のきびしさや人の世のむずかしさを、旅の苦労に重ねています。
