今日のことわざは「月とすっぽん」です。

由来
夜空に輝く月と、にごった泥の中にいるすっぽんは、どちらもまるい形だが、その差は比較にならないほど大きいことから。
Origin
The moon shining in the night sky and the soft-shelled turtle in the muddy mud are both round, but the difference is incomparably large.

意味
二つのものの違いが大きすぎて、くらべものにならないこと。
Meaning
The difference between the two is too big to compare.

例・使い方
絵画コンクールで入選したお兄ちゃんの作品と、絵心がないぼくの作品とでは「月とすっぽん」だ。
Example / How to use
The work of the older brother who won the painting contest and the work of me who has no artistic spirit are “moon and soft-shelled turtle“.

すっぽんとは？
亀の一種で、一度食いついたら離さないと言われています。
また、「丸（まる）」という別名をもつほど甲羅が丸いのも特徴。
このことわざでは月より劣った存在ですが、「すっぽん鍋」など食用にも使われ、高級食材として知られています。
What is a soft-shelled turtle?
It is a kind of turtle, and it is said that once you eat it, you will not let go.
Another feature is that the shell is so round that it has the alias “maru”.
Although it is inferior to the moon in this saying, it is also used for food such as “Suppon Nabe” and is known as a high-class food.

何かを比較するするときに使うことわざですが、丸い形だけで表現しているので、他にもなかったのかなと思ったりもします。
月は輝いてきれいですが、すっぽんはコラーゲンたっぷりで食べると肌ツヤがきれいになるので、私の中ではイーブンとしますｗ

It’s a saying used when comparing something, but since it’s expressed only in a round shape, I wonder if there was anything else.
The moon is shining and beautiful, but if you eat soft-shelled turtle with plenty of collagen, your skin will become glossy, so I will call it even.
