皆さんこんにちは。今日はことわざ第7弾です。
今日のことわざは「河童の川流れ」です。
類似していることわざには、「弘法にも筆の誤り」や「猿も木から落ちる」があります。

Today’s saying is “Kappa’s river flow“.
Similar sayings include “Kobo also has a brush error” and “Monkeys also fall from trees.“
由来
泳ぎが上手な河童でも、ときには油断して川に流され、おぼれることがあることから。
Origin
Even a kappa who is good at swimming can sometimes be alert and swept into the river and drown.
意味
どんな名人でも思わぬ失敗をすることがある。
meaning
Any master can make unexpected mistakes.
例・使い方
昔、ケーキ屋で働いていたお母さんが粉の量をまちがえて失敗したことがある。
まさに河童の川流れだね。
Example / How to use
A long time ago, a mother who worked at a cake shop made a mistake in the amount of flour and failed.
It’s just the flow of a kappa river.
河童（かっぱ）とは
頭の上に皿、背中に甲羅、手足に水かきがある想像上の妖怪です。
人を水中に引きずり込んで、お尻から尻子玉（昔はあると考えられていた体の一部）を抜くと言われています。
大好物はきゅうりで、頭の皿の水が無くなると死んでしまいます。
What is a kappa?
An imaginary youkai with a plate on its head, a shell on its back, and webs on its limbs.
It is said to drag a person into the water and pull out a kappa ball (a part of the body that was once thought to exist) from his butt.
My favorite food is cucumbers, which die when the plate on my head runs out of water.

想像上の妖怪とされていますが、河童をマスコットにしている町が「兵庫県福崎市」にあります。
当ページのイラストはかわいいですが、実際にいたら怖いモチーフです。

Although it is considered to be an imaginary youkai, there is a town in “Fukusaki City, Hyogo Prefecture” that has a kappa as its mascot.
The illustrations on this page are cute, but they are scary motifs if you actually have them.
If I have a chance, I would like to go see it.
