皆さんこんにちは。今日はことわざ第5弾です。

今日のことわざは「一を聞いて十を知る」です。
正確には一部分(一)を聞いてすべて(十)を知るです。
私には絶対無理ですw

Hello everyone. Today is the 5th saying.
Today’s saying is “listen to one and know ten.”
To be precise, listen to a part (one) and know all (ten).
It’s absolutely impossible for me.

一を聞いて十を知る。

由来
もとは中国の古い書物「論語」に登場することば。
孔子の弟子が、孔子の別の弟子に「君は一を聞くと十を理解するが、自分は一を聞いても二を理解する程度だ」と言ったということから。

意味
ものごとの一部分を聞いただけで全体を理解すること。
とても賢いことのたとえ。

例・使い方
頭の回転がはやい田中君は、一を聞いて十を知るということばがぴったりな人だ。

孔子とはどんな人?
孔子は、大昔の中国で活躍した思想家です。
儒教という教えを作った人として、日本にも大きな影響を与えました。
この儒教の教えを弟子たちが書き記した書物が「論語」です。

Origin
Originally a word that appears in an old Chinese book, “Theory”.
Because a disciple of Confucius told another disciple of Confucius, “When you hear one, you understand ten, but when you hear one, you understand two.”

meaning
To understand the whole thing just by listening to a part of things.
The parable of being very clever.

Example / How to use
Mr. Tanaka, who has a quick mind, is the perfect person to hear one and know ten.

Confucius is a thinker who was active in China in ancient times.
As the person who created the teaching of Confucianism, he had a great influence on Japan.
