由来
鶴の鳴き声は大きく、周囲をおどろかせるような強さがあって、遠くまで響くことから。
Origin
The cry of the crane is loud, it has a strength that surprises the surroundings, and it resonates far away.

意味
大勢で話し合ってもなかなか決まらなかったことが、力のある人の一言であっさり決まること。
また、誰にも文句を言わせないような強い立場の人が言うことば。
Meaning
What was difficult to decide even after a lot of discussions was decided easily by a word of a powerful person.
Also, the words of a person in a strong position who will not let anyone complain.

例・使い方
今度の学芸会の出し物は、「この歌がいい」「いや、あの歌だ」とクラスで意見が分かれたが、先生の一言で一気に決まった。
まさに鶴の一声だった。
Example / How to use
Opinions were divided in the class, saying, “This song is good” and “No, that song”, but the teacher decided at once.
It was just a voice of a crane.

鶴とは？
首と脚の長さが特徴の美しい鳥で、日本では古来より長寿やめでたいものの象徴とされてきました。
鹿児島県に飛来する真鶴や、北海道に生息するタンチョウが有名です。
What is a crane?
A beautiful bird with a long neck and legs, it has been a symbol of longevity and longevity in Japan since ancient times.
Manazuru, which flies to Kagoshima Prefecture, and Japanese cranes, which live in Hokkaido, are famous.

このことわざは、力のある人の一言が、すべてを覆してしまう事です。
カリスマ的存在の人や、本当に筋の通った人ならいいのですが、勢いだけで「鶴の一声」で覆されたらたまったものではないですね。
そういった一言にも、物言える人になりたいものです。

The saying is that a word of a powerful person overturns everything.
Anyone who is charismatic or who really makes sense is fine, but it’s not something that has been overturned by the “voice of a crane” just by the momentum.
I want to be a person who can speak even in such a word.
